Race to the Castle 2022

KEY EVENT PREPARATION

The online ‘MyEvents Portal’ allows you to edit your registration, defer, complete a participant transfer and purchase additional items such as shuttles, parking and iTabs.

Please note: if you deferred your place from 2020, please contact us directly for any registration changes.

Your journey to the Castle

  • December: First Essential Event Information email sent
  • February: It’s time to get training! Check out our Training Plans below.
  • March: Don’t forget to book your shuttles and parking!
  • April: Check out the route and pit stops!
  • 8 weeks to go: Ensure your address is up to date so that we can send you your Registration Pack (we wouldn’t want it to get lost!)
  • 6 weeks to go: Check you have everything you need from the kit list.
  • 4 weeks to go: Start waves will be allocated and your Event Booklet will help to answer any last minute questions.
  • 2 weeks to go:
    • Registration closes
    • Bookings for shuttles and parking close
    • Your registration pack will be posted from now onwards, as well as any additional things you’ve purchased (parking permits and official apparel – these may come separately!)
  • EVENT DAY!

Race to the Castle Training Plans

We strongly recommend you train with the Sports Nutrition you’ll use on the day. Please see tips below from HIGH5 on hydration, training and recovery. You can also access a HIGH5 discount code!

We would recommend joining the Threshold Trail Series Facebook forum to meet other participants, team up with your training and swap tips for the event. In the build up to the event, we will also be hosting a range of Q&A’s via social media with variety of training and nutrition experts.  

Shuttles & Parking

Parking will be available at the Start, Basecamp and Finish and shuttles will run at certain times between key locations.  

The full shuttle timetable will be released closer to the event. Shuttles will run regularly throughout the weekend between Finish – Start. The shuttles are less regular for the other journeys.  To ensure we get you to the start line on time, all participants will be assigned a specific shuttle for their respective wave time.  

 The parking locations and shuttle journeys are available to book now via your MyEvents Portal. Bookings will close 2 weeks prior to the event: 

  • Log on to your ‘MyEvents Portal’ 
  • Select Additional purchases 
  • Select your choice and checkout

Event Booklet

We will be sharing an Event Booklet 4 weeks prior to the event. This will contain detailed information about the live event including: 

  • Registration information & start line procedure 
  • Basecamp timings 
  • Pit-stop timings and food 
  • How to get results and photos 
  • Medical and nutritional advice 
  • Safety and support

Must Do’s

  • Contact your chosen charity to let them know you’ll be fundraising for them & share your fundraising page with them
  • Keep them up to date on your fundraising progress & how the training is going!
  • Set up your fundraising page on JustGiving here 

Fundraising Requirements

  • If you’ve signed up to the event on a charity place, you’ll need to raise 50% of your overall fundraising target by 6 weeks prior to the event and 100% of your overall fundraising target no later than 4 weeks after the event.
